Wubs Family Foundation is honored to continue its partnership with Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) for the second year in a row. EFry works to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness and crime through safe housing, justice advocacy, children’s programs, and community-based supports for women and children. We are proud to support the continued expansion of their counselling programs and their employment program, Woolwerx.
EFry Counselling programs offer free counselling services to women that is trauma-informed, culturally aware and rooted in evidence-based practice. They offer sessions in multiple languages and work with people with diverse needs, backgrounds, and life experiences. This helps reduce barriers to mental health care and provides sustainable, inclusive support for those seeking it.
Woolwerx is a social enterprise that transforms donated British Columbia wool into high- quality, environmentally sustainable products. This creates employment opportunities for women who face barriers to entering the workforce. By helping women build transferable skills, earn a living wage, and gain financial independence, Woolwerx also provides greater stability and security for them and their families.
In our goal to help women and children facing complex obstacles in life, it is fundamental to support organizations like EFry who offer unrestricted access to care and resources which help create meaningful and sustainable change in people’s lives. We are deeply thankful for the amazing work EFry does to support women and families in their journey towards independence and well-being.
