At the Wubs Family Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education, opportunity, and support, regardless of their circumstances. That’s why we’re proud to launch Bright Futures, a community-driven initiative to strengthen and support schools in Surrey. We invite you to join us in creating lasting change. Your sponsorship will directly impact local students by providing vital resources like technology, school programming, and essential supplies. With several levels of support available, there’s a meaningful way for every partner to get involved. Together, we can build a brighter future, one child, one school, one community at a time. Let’s do this, together.
“From the moment we stepped into Old Yale Road, it felt like home. Warm smiles, laughter, and kind words reminded us that this school is more than just a building — it’s a place of
resilience, comfort, and hope. Many of our students and families face trauma, poverty, and loss, yet our shared vision is to create a safe, welcoming space that brings joy and hope to all. We can’t do this alone. Your generous support through the Wubs Family Foundation helps us turn this vision into real, life-changing action.”– Principal Old Yale Road Elementary
“Many families at our school are newcomers to Canada and have limited opportunities to explore beyond their neighbourhood. Field trips offer more than just fun—they help students build language, social, and life skills, and broaden their sense of what’s possible.
This year, Grade 7 students took part in a camp experience at Timberline Ranch, where they tried archery, obstacle courses, and horseback riding—many for the first time. One student, recently arrived in Canada and struggling to make connections, fully engaged in the camp activities. She returned with greater confidence, new friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.” – Student Impact Story
“One of our Grade 6 students has already experienced more adversity than many face in a lifetime. After time in foster care, she is now being raised by her grandmother, who is working hard to provide the stability and care her granddaughter needs to thrive.
When she joined our school, it was clear she was struggling to engage in the classroom. We soon discovered that vision challenges were preventing her from fully participating. With support, we were able to provide her with prescription glasses—allowing her to see the board clearly, read with confidence, and keep pace with her peers.
This support extended beyond academics. Through the hot lunch program, she now receives daily nutritious meals, shared among classmates. These warm meals not only nourish her body, but also help foster a sense of inclusion and community.”
